Property Purchase Check List

Before signing an Offer & Acceptance

  1. Check the property walls for cracks or dampness.
  2. Check that all plumbing, electrical and gas appliances are working.
  3. Look under furniture, behind wall units and inside cupboards for any damage.
  4. Check that all the doors and windows work properly.
  5. If there are security doors and windows check that there is a full set of keys.
  6. If there have been renovations, check that the seller has council approval.
  7. If the property has a security alarm, check that the seller has all the relevant operating details.
  8. Check whether the property is connected to sewer system.
  9. Check that all septic tanks have been properly decommissioned.
  10. Lastly check that you fully understand the offer and acceptance document you are signing, it is a binding contract.
